Mango Chutney

Ingredients:



You couldn't get a more easy recipe than this Mango Chutney, and yet it makes such a difference to sandwiches, or as a side dressing with salad.

12 green mangoes

1 1/2 lbs sugar

1/2 lb raisins

1/2 lb dates

1/4 lb garlic

1/2 lb onions

1 Tablespoon ground ginger

1 1/2 Tablespoons salt

1/2 Dessertspoon pepper

1/2 dozen chillies

1 pkt mixed spice

3/4 bottle vinegar

Method:

Peel mangoes, and place in saucepan with all other ingredients.

Bring to the boil, then cook slowly until tender.

When cool, bottle and seal.
